Custom Build or AI AXMC ??

The 338 Ultra is almost the same length as the Ultra 9, just fatter around. For what its worth I have a 338 Ultra and DOMINUS on order for my AI AX in 6BR and 6.5CM. Best of both worlds.

Ultra 9 is 9", 338 Ultra is 10.4".
Ultra 9 OD 1.5", 338 Ultra OD 1.8".
Ultra 9 is 11.9oz, 338 Ultra is 16.9oz

The 338 Ultra will be even quiter than the Ultra 9 on a 6CM

i must still not be following it looked like the ultra 9 in 6 creedmore was quieter than the 338 and its not as big so again what is the advantage other than being able to shoot a higher number of cartridges through it

copy. i will have to look back over the video. i have a 1 year old and she didnt want me to watch it. im just scared that it will be to long. i want to compete with this rifle some in the prs. which i have never done before.

i think i want to go with a brand new setup if i paying that amount of money i want to be the first one to put my paws on it. talked to the guys at mile high yesterday i think i picked a setup. subject to change i had a new aiax in fde with a bartline 6mm creedmore barrel sphur rings and zero comp 5-27 with mpct 3 ret. also the thunder beast ultra 9 suppressor. let me know if u like it, if not what would u change. i want to get some serious training so i can compete on the prs level. is there a good place on the forum to ask what guys recommend as far as where to go and what programs to look at.

That’s all top of the heap stuff. I have the 5,7, and 338 ultras. Had a 9 in inventory and sold it, but not before some customer demos. The Goldilocks to me is the 7, especially if you’ll actually be doing anything with it beyond bench work. The 338, which I use a lot(personal can), is nice. Just another step bigger/heavier than the 9, and man are they expensive! The 9 is a good choice, I wouldnt lose any sleep over it. Not sure the 338 is worth it imo.

Have you considered the Banish 30? It is a 9in but can be converted to a 7in. It’s 100% titanium made by Mack brothers but designed by silencer central. Have one on order and also have the previous varminter 3.0. They claim its the quietest on the market.

I have both custom build and ai . Everyone has a sweet spot for there rifle , hands down for the money and reliability and extreme accuracy with custom Ammo , available parts . Mile high blowout with Schmidt set up is awsome and unbeatable in my book

I didn’t even consider an AI for my first nice rifle.

I like to get an older AE, AW or possibly AT in the future and slap a 260 barrel in it.

When going to high end stuff it is very difficult to find them in local and even high end gun stores as you've discovered. One thing to consider might be after this Covid thing is over try going to a match whether PRS or ELR. There you will see more equipment and people to talk to about it than any where else.

I went with the 9 and my gun should be here today I will post pics when I get a chance

I just want to bring up a small point. Ai axmc Barrel can be removed and make barrel cleaning so much easier. Custom rifle usually do not have removable barrel option.
any barrel can be removed w/ a $70 wrench if thats really important to you.

No good photos yet but look what I got today
