Anybody make a custom tacticool magazine for a Savage long action? I'd like an 8 or so round mag for my 116FCSS. I figured the gunsmithing section would be a good place to ask.

I've been making a 10 round for the 308 (working on another batch now) and have the plans drawn for the long action - hoping to find some time to make a few.
I also make an extended mag release.

Just called CDI...he said get a new stock first, the accustock ain't that good for what he has to offer. So now I need a scope and a Macmillan A5 stock....and a better job.

i swapped out everything and went CDI and i have no mags now, lol. i am waiting on a few alphas and i want to snag an AI and a Cproducts to test out. Z71rat is looking into using a 30.06 BAR mag to mate to the top part of a savage factory mag like he does with the G3 for the short action. at least i think he is. the 30.06 BAR mag was the only long action one i could think of. did any of the early 30.06 service rifles use detachable mags?
