For 25 years I've been hoping for a company to offer bushing style reloading dies with expander buttons and Hornady now offers such a die... almost...

Sure we can get bushings of whatever size we want, that's old news, but that's only part of the requirement...

But what about custom expander button sizes? Maybe in 0.0002" increments, or at least 0.0005" increments. Could always get one size too big, put it in a drill and polish it down to user perfection with sand paper

Lots of guys are running their brass through expander mandrels after sizing but it would certainly be more convenient to simply use the correct sized expander button.

I would even argue that pulling a button out of the case would produce better concentricity than pushing a mandrel in.

Are any of you familiar with any custom size expander buttons anywhere?

Anyone can sand theirs to whatever spec they want but whidden has been offering a variety forever now

And no, pulling a case with a ball is not going to be as consistent as compressing it with a mandrel.
