I have two Leupold MKIV scopes with the mismatched MilDot reticle and MOA turrets. In talking to Leupold, the conversion to Mil/Mil is not possible at this time for my model. As an alternative, I'm considering having a set of custom turrets made for my favorite load. I certainly understand the limitations of this vs a very detailed setting from a logbook, but am wondering how bad it would really be out to 600 or so yards. I live in a pretty flat state, so altitude changes don't come into play. Temperature swings would be the biggest factor. I realize that it's not a perfect solution, but would it be quicker than messing with the MIL/MOA mismatch? I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has done this conversion or shot with the CDS turrets.
