Re: Customized M&P .45

Looks good. I have wanted to try and customize some of my Glocks with that added finger groove. I have been intrigued by these pistols since I saw SGM Kyle Lamb shooting one in his VTAC videos. Maybe its time to try one out.

I use a soldering iron with a flat tip. I then lightly go over the finish with 800 grit sandpaper until I get the feel that I want. It's really pretty easy, but it is hard to take the leap and just go for it. At this point I have done quite a few texturing jobs and have the technique pretty solidified.

IMO the texturing makes the feel of pistol 100% better.

I love the finger groove. For the longest time I wasn't sure if there would be any added benefit to it, but I must say, it was totally worth it. It really helps seat the pistol deep in the grip for extra control.

I appreciate it... It really feels great in the hand. My next upgrade is going to be Trijicon night sights - I just need to find someone with a sight pusher to install them for me.

I'm not real familiar with M&Ps, but can't you just drive the sights in/out with a brass punch? I do it all the time with my Glocks...

I think you can, but I have heard it's a bitch on the M&Ps and I would hate to spend $100 on night sights and then break a tritium vial trying to punch it in place.

B E A Utiful..!!! That looks great !! I used to have an M&P but sold it for reasons beyond my control. Everything is wonderful now and I am re-acquiring my list, but I think I'm going to go with a Glock this time, which would be a GREAT candidate for that AWESOME stippling..! WAY TO GO b7tac..!

Thanks a lot. I did my buddy's Glock 26 a while back and it turned out great. The polymer that the Glock's are made of seem to texture a lot easier than the M&Ps and XDs.

I say go for the texturing on you glock when you get it - it really adds to the functionality and look.

Yes all the M&Ps can come off with a punch but they can be a pain sometimes. Make sure you do it right since they only go on one way and off the other.
