Gunsmithing Cutting down ACC

What do I need to do, ask for (service) to cut down a ACC chassis so the barrel (18”) clears?
Chop, remove, Weld back the front cap??
Anyone done this? Pics?

Looks like a pretty simple cut, countersink in 4x, touch up the paint and reinstall the factory end cap.
