Gunsmithing Cutting down length of recoil lug

I just got a MPA BA Chassis stock. When I placed my Stiller TAC 30 260 barreled action in the chassis, I realized that the recoil lug is too tall for the action to seat properly. My recoil lug is 1.910 inches tall. I checked out specs for recoil lugs and most are approximately 1.170 inches tall.

My question - Can I have my gunsmith mill approximately .210 inch off the bottom of the recoil lug without disassembling the barrel ? The rifle shoots very well and I would just as soon not remove the barrel if I don't need to.

Thanks - Phil G
