Since I was looking at getting a Sako Quad to make a trainer, and now I've heard they are no longer importing them, I was thinking about using a CZ452 Varmint as the base for a trainer build. I have a 452FS that is a great shooter, and would like to use the CZ action. Anyone have any recommendations for who to go to for a nice A4/A5 style stock for a 452? Also, anyone have any custom bolt knobs they have done or options to get them done? I figure there is going to be some work involved in all of this, I'm just looking to start off on the right foot. Any info you guys can give me would be awesome! Thanks.

Re: CZ 452 Custom Build

IF you want the quad, get the quad. Apparently, the import rumors are false according to Beretta. The 452 is a fine platform and one of the custom stock manufacturers can write a program for it if it is not already in the system. Aftermarket bolt knobs are ubiquitous and can be made to thread onto most handles once turned and threaded.

Hi i have fitted Tac Ops bolt knobs to the Brno 452 bolt handles it is easy enough to do you will have to get an uninleted A5 and then get it machined to suit the action it will all work.

Re: CZ 452 Custom Build

Hi CCCCanuck, You can buy a dead set A5 replica from Staffs in UK, I've also seen a couple of 452's in Manners A4 stocks, of of course there is Mcmillan. Ive got (but not yet had fitted) a DD Ross knurled bolt knob, seen others done, they work well. Do youself a favour and at least LOOK at the Staffs site!
www.staffs-synthetic-stocks.co.uk Go in to Custom Work, scroll down to "TR1 stock inletted for CZ452", also check out the "components" heading.
Alternatively you could look at the Aussie "Wild Dog" offerings.
