So I was browsing the local gun stock for a .22 bolt action rifle. Had a little bit of everything. When a couple of used CZ 452's caught my eye.

One was acz 452 2e zkm (stamped on the receiver) the bluing on the barrel was in rough shape the everything else seemed in excellent shape also was a 16" model. Is 199.99 to much for this?

The reason why I'm asking is they also had a 452 varmint for $399.99. I want a good .22 for practice purposes but this will also me my sons first .22 in a couple of years.

Any help would be appreciated. I did do research which is why I was looking at CZ's in the first place I know they are quality. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something and getting the best "bang for my buck"

Re: CZ 452 question/ price check

i'd buy the used one and spend some money to get the gun refinished (if it bothers you or just shoot the piss out of it).

spend the extra couple of dollars and get the steel magazines. they hold up very well.

Re: CZ 452 question/ price check

They're both used which is why I'm alittle confused about the $200 difference.

I'm thinking about going back today. Is there anything I should look for? or shouldn't I worry since it is a .22?

Re: CZ 452 question/ price check

I wouldnt worry. 200 for a used CZ thats not in the best of shape is a bit high. Maybe ask if they will let it go for that tax included. that would be a fair deal all the way around, and use the gun, dont worry about how it looks. Its almost a garentee that it will shoot great unless some previous owner realled F***ed something up.

Re: CZ 452 question/ price check

You will appreciate your CZ.. I know I love all 4 of my 452 Americans.

The 16" one you are speaking of might have been the 'Scout' model, in which $199 for a rifle the was beat to hell isn't the best deal. You will love the 453, especially with the trigger it has on it!

Congrats on the new rifle...and congrats to the youth coming up shooting!
