    Took my Sig 522 and the CZ 452 out on the 9th. I ran into a fellow 'Hider who was out with his .260 testing loads. Didn't think to get his username or anything though. Cool dude, sweet rifle. Anyhow. Finally got around to doing a couple things though...First off, I downloaded the free version of the On Target Calculator. Works great for me. (see 'free')

    Number two, the last time (see 'first time') I took the 452 out, it was everywhere. It was somewhere north of an inch and a half or more. I didn't really feel like I had a grasp of the kind of accuracy these rifles would be capable of. I think after this last trip, I know now.

    I lean towards shooting the Remington Eley Target Rifle ammo that is readily/locally available at Bass Pro. For clarification, this stuff;

    ...through this rifle;

    I zeroed the rifle (the scope was removed since going to the range last) and proceeded to attempt printing groups. The first one was a 3 shot group. The others are 5 shot groups. I guess the 3 was me testing the waters.

    I shot these groups prone off a bipod at 100 yards.

    The group labeled Group 2 was when the wind kicked up. I lost the first shot off the box. It was SUPPOSED to be a 5 shot group...

    This makes waiting on the Manners T4 from the Group Buy so much harder now...

    I will be making another venture out with the Sig and 452 as well as my .308 tomorrow morning. I will probably bump this again tomorrow night with more results.

    Re: CZ 452V Range Report.

    I was on the fence about going with a TR just for the readily available stock option, and the performance they were capable of. But when I saw the Manners T4 GB becoming available, I made the decision to go with the CZ.

    And yes, the free v1.whatever On Target software is what I used. I'm surprised why, especially when I see it used so frequently here, I never downloaded it before.

    If I am impressed enough (again) with the results of the Sig, I may morph this post into a range report thread for both rifles. I know it is capable of honest 1MOA performance as well. I just want to see if it really is repeatable, with the barrels being able to be switched with a simple wrench.

    I'm reeling from the 110 degree heat index.

    I will get a full report up before I venture off this evening. I will post results from shooting both the Sig 522 and CZ 452V in this thread, as well as pose a couple questions. Hopefully some insight can be shed.

    Re: CZ 452V Range Report.

    4, 5 round groups with the CZ 452V. This first image are the first 3 groups, (this time, labeled accordingly.)My zero from the last trip accounted for a slight quarter-value wind, which is where Group 1 went. Those were the first groups I shot today, so that probably was me...

    After the .675" group, I decided I would take the boresnake through, just to see what would happen with the groups. This 5 round group I shot following cleaning was the last group;

    The first round is the one that impacted the target, followed by the 4 underneath. Curious. Still, I am happy with the performance of the rifle with this ammo and the fact it is something I can get locally.

    Now the Sig. Just for clarification, this rifle;

    With the same ammo as shown in the OP. The optic now sits in an offbrand pair of rings that shrink the objective down to the rail. Next chance I find range time/money, I will be spending more trigger time with the Sig. I was shooting off my pack, instead of a bipod (they were riding on the bolt guns). With a bipod installed, no wind and the same ammo, this rifle will shoot this;

    But this time, it did this;

    I spent 5 rounds zeroing, 5 rounds producing a loose group on the zero target, and 4 more distinct 5 round groups. After the second group, I boresnaked the barrel one time to see the effect. Group 3 had a FailToFeed which marred the cartridge up rather badly, so it turned into a 4 round group. The first 3 groups I think don't accurately reflect what the rifle can do at it's peak, but maybe more towards what is "consistent"...we will see...
