Cz 457 or tikka t1x can't decide

Just bought a tikka t1 today. To me in my opinion the cz is a much more refined gun. My stick trigger will not go below 2lbs without slam firing. Bluing is better on the cz, the bore is tighter on the cz. The stock, any of them, are better on the cz. The lop is really short on the tikka factory stock. Bravo is a must

I have the Boyd's at 1 and 16in barrel. With center x it is one if the best shooting guns I own. I have a precision trainer from cz in the manners and my at 1 model out shoots it. I have played with an mtr extensively and my at 1 out shoots it too. My tikka is yet to be fired. I bought it as a squirrel rifle. I suspect it will either shoot very well and get a timney or it will be traded/sold in a day.
How does the at 1 stock feel? I am still looking and believe i am going cz due to the fact i dont want to turn around and pay for krg bravo on the tikka. I am looking at the at 1 and the pro varmint.

If you only had $600, then I'd get the CZ 457 at-one.
If you had $830, then I'd get the Tikka T1X & a Bravo.
If you had $1500 to spend, then get a MDT ACC or MPA CZ chassis and stick like a Varmint CZ into it.
If you had $2000 to spend, maybe a fully custom MPA CZ rifle or Area 419 rifle.
If you had $2500 to spend, then get a Vudoo.

not the worst advice i've seen here.

although some may disagree and say once you get north of $1500 you might as well save more and just buy a vudoo.

Bought a tikka t1x. Sighted it in and got under 1/2 inch at 50 yd indoor range most of the time (benched). Put on a Boyd’s at one stock. Love the adjustment and look. But the plastic fit is not as good as I like. I end up putting a skate tape over the seem. After my wife tried it and she want to shoot it every time we go to range. No recoil and light trigger (just under 2lb with trigger screw back out). My total cost for the whole thing is $675, rifle+new stock+rail. Happy? Yes. Would be happier if have gone with grs stock. It was out of stock everywhere when I bought the t1x. Imho, Cz is a great choice too.

If you had $2000 to spend, maybe a fully custom MPA CZ rifle or Area 419 rifle. Above combo or a used Anschutz 1710 with XLR chassis or GRS stock. A nice one in a GRS is for sale on GB now with several mags for $1,700.00.
If you had $2500 to spend, then get a Vudoo. For $2,500 there are many options and combos. Vudoo is certainly a great choice.
My thoughts above in red.

I was very interested in getting a T1x when they were announced, but at the same time, photos of the new CZ457 American, MTR, and VPT all really appealed to me. After buying an American & MTR, I kind of let the desire for a Tikka fade out, especially after getting into the CZs to the point where I bought a couple of Shilen select match ratchet rifled blanks and did the work to chamber (with a PTG EPS reamer) and install them on both the CZs. The stock triggers were easy to adjust down to 1lb, and with no creep, it'd be a cold day in 'ell before I'd swap them for an aftermarket unit. With its slightly heavier Shilen, the American weighs right at 9lbs with a 6-24x50 Midas TAC, and it cycles with 100% reliability. But its stock has some nice grain/figure in it, and there's no way I'd go banging it up while shooting NRL22 matches with it. The MTR is heavier at 10-1/4lbs with a Cronus 4.5-29x56 mounted, but I'm not crazy about dinging its stock up either, so it'll see use where I'm not shooting on the clock. So if I didn't already have a V-22, the 457 VPT with a threaded 20" bbl would be the model I'd shoot in timed PRS-style matches. The only things I don't like about the CZ457s are: considerable variation in accuracy with factory bbls, and the difficulty in seating a loaded 10rd mag unless the bolt's open & pulled to the rear.

Hey EOD Dave, I have it in the MDT T1X LSS-RF T1X if I remember correctly, by the way, worked with you guys out of Speicher, approx 2007-2009

I spent a lot of time over seas but never in Germany. I spent a lot of time is SE Asia Southern Asia, Africa and South America. Pretty much everywhere but Europe. It was fun though.
