Hi Folks,

Recently joined and have been lurking around this awesome board reading the wealth of knowledge on long range, rifles, optics, etc.. Though this isn't long range, I have a CZ 527 that needs to be bedded. Do you guys have any recommendations for a gunsmith in Houston that does CZ work? Appreciate the replies and look forward to participating on here more!

You can do it yourself with a blob of epoxy, some shoe polish/wax, some tape and an X-acto knife. There's a lot of videos out there if you have the time. I did my 527 a few weeks ago. Seems to shoot fine:

Nope. Just lightly sanded the barrel channel to free-float it, used a few wraps of tape around the barrel at the tip of the fore-end to center it all up, added a thin plastic shim to the rear of the action, taped-off where I didn't want glue, roughed-up the wood, waxed the metal after removing the trigger group, applied goo to both the stock and the action, stuck-them together and let it set a few hours in the sun. Trimmed off the extra when it was still 'leather hard,' and voila:

I also installed/bedded the bipod mount at the same time but anyone with a screwdriver and some screws can do that. If it didn't shoot then I was going to hog out the bedding and pillar it, but it does not appear that it's required. I can't wait 'til the Spring when I can go pop some prairie dogs, water-filled beer cans will have to do until then.
