Hey guys, I need to find a CZ 550 Lux in 7X57mm... Looking for the one with the high stock comb sporter style wood stock not the full length stock. I've had no luck at the local gun dealers and I'm not sure if CZ imports one. Does anyone here know where I can pick one up? Any info will help.

Thanks,
Chance

Re: CZ 550 question (non tactical)

According to the CZ website:

http://cz-usa.com/products/by-category/rifles/

The humpbacked stock is only imported on the mannlicher style rifle and there is no CZ centerfire made in 7x57.

If you MUST have a 7x57, I'm afraid you need to look elsewhere. Rugers were done in that caliber as were some old SAKOs.

It's a nice caliber but a 7mm08 will do anything it will and is available from a lot of makers. If you want a CZ, the 6.5x55 is a great caliber and, again, will do anything a 7x57 will with todays excellent bullets.

Good shooting!

Re: CZ 550 question (non tactical)

Thanks, I have been to their website and found the same info as you did. This rifle is not for me, the person that wants this rifle likes CZ's and already has the 6.5X55 and an old Ruger in 7X57,plus 1 more custom Argentine model 98 in 7X57. For hunting the 7X57 is a very good caliber and I agree with you Mr. Humble that it can be equaled by many other calibers, but this man is hardheaded and dead set. He saw in one of their brochures that they make this rifle...I can't find it...period. Maybe they don't import it...or maybe it was just a small run of rifles.

If I can't find one...does anyone know a good gunsmith that works on CZ's in a traditional hunting style configuration (Wood Stocks).

Thanks for your help,
Chance
