(Canadian Firearms Lawyer, post includes a link to Parliamentry questions specifying the involvement of Colt Canada)

Context: The Canadian Liberal party has banned >2500 firearms in Canada since May 2020 including effectively all semi auto centre fire rifles but also a broad swathe of rimfires, bolt actions and shotguns.

Now it appears they have contract Colt Canada (Owned by CZ Firearms) to destroy an initial batch of 12,000 firearms and likely the follow up 500-600,000 firearms

As Canadian gun owners we need every gun owner worldwide to object as strongly as possible to this.

NB: Colt Canada is practically the only organisation in Canada that can do this work. Convincing them to not do it would vastly increase the complexity and cost of storing, transporting and destroying these firearms. Just exporting them to the USA would easily add 50% to the costs. This further encourages the likelihood of the programmes cancellation as it is currently increasingly unpopular with the public.

So much for that Custom Shop SAA I was eyeballing --I'll spend my $3500 elsewhere and let them know why.

ETA: I have written them a sternly worded email and cancelled my deposit. I don't expect either of those two things to do anything on the macro level, but I have a personal choice in who I choose to support and it will not be a company that does not respect liberty and private firearm ownership.

Frankly, for the legacy of a company whose founder "made all men equal", this is appalling and disgusting.

Kudo's to you, the Founding Fathers would be proud of you. Cheers

I would be surprised if CZ HQ was involved in this. I’ve been there, and those dudes are seriously flippin’ RABID gun studs, right on down to the custodial staff. They make most SH members look like Gun Grabbers.

If true, It has to be whatever office or division that works with NA customers. I would also be surprised if CZ HQ doesn’t intervene immediately and lay a beatdown on anyone complying with the Commies.

du.ly noted! I had a colt python and another CZ rimfire on my list to purchase before end of year and now they shove it far up their asses!
I've checked the new Pythons and wouldnt buy it. If I were to buy a 357 it would be a nice older pre hillary hole 686. With a little work the triggers can be made really nice, and theyre $500 less.

It could be a corporate decision to keep the Canadian gov at bay, maybe? I always default to the belief that decisions like these are the fault of gov fuckabout before a legit business decision

I have a 627-5 PC that I'm sending off for a lock delete and action job. I'm pretty pumped for it!

Wheel guns are slick.

I bought this Anaconda, its pretty nice and the trigger isnt bad but the sights were garbage, replaced them with Wilson combat. . I'm taking it to the Dave Fink at Gunsite to improve the trigger.

This encapsulates the life of a Canadian firearms owner.

Or you could just say no and not turn your guns in.

That would "increase the complexity" of the program a bit too.
All the online “quiet” folks will do exactly that. Thing is, if at any point after the date (Oct ‘25 right now) a person is caught with any banned firearm, the full weight of the national government and their enforcers, the RCMP, will fall on otherwise law abiding citizens. Members, imagine for moment you now have a criminal conviction for prohibited firearms and any other charge they and their government prosecutors can think of. Lose your job, maybe all your “friends” from church or the gym? Do you use all your resources to legally fight it, knowing the fix is in before it started? Wife leaves to try and support the kids? You take a job at 1/2 your former pay because you can’t pass a criminal record check? No credit either. Halfway house or mold infested basement apartment owned by a distant slum lord relative? This is the everyday decision making matrix we live here in Kanucastan. Covid was a test case for proof of concept. They won. We lost. Chesty advocated charging the entrenched enemy. Glorious and dead.. Fuck what a shit show we live in.

This is pretty much the situation Illinois gun owners, who either didn't register their banned items, or who acquired them during the injunction week and cannot register them, are in.

Edit: well maybe not the national government, but certainly State and local.

Eff Colt-CZ Group for doing the work of Nazis, aka Democrats, Progressives, Leftists, Marxists, Socialists, Fascists, Communists, Maoists, Leninists, Globalists.

So much for me buying that FDE & Black CZ p10c today at SS.

We should never forget the companies that have aided the gun grabbers, except when the company changes ownership, for instance S&W is under totally different ownership since they conspired with Clinton; Bill Ruger is deceased and his sons are much different about ARs and semi-autos, just look at their product line.

I'll never forget Springfield Armory's and Rock River Arms' intentional actions with the Illinois Gun Dealer Licensing Act that put many mom & pop gun shops out of business.

Every single purchase we make as Americans has a tiny effect on our existences and freedoms. Eff Colt-CZ, SA, RRA, the Dems and their Chicom comrades.

OTH the so called Hitlery hole on Smiths never really bothered me but yeah its nice without it though. I betting not many have 45 colt mountain gun which got the Hitlery hole but its my favorite with just a slight advantage over the 😍rare 3” 625. 😎😀
I had one, not the Mt. gun, but a Model of 1988 625 in 45ACP. I loved it and the trigger was the best I've shot (must have had some work). I finally sold it because I hated messing with the moon clips. A real PITA.

With the right gear they are fast to put rounds in the moon clips. I could not get rid of the ones I have now. Being left handed and am stupid fast with reloads.

There are plenty of us who aren't going to turn anything in, but many of the rifles they banned were registered as restricted firearms here. And they're trying to get gun owners to tell them what we have that isn't registered, in the hopes that we will get some sort of compensation once the government takes them. Just another reminder that registration always leads to confiscation.

And the Toronto police at least have demonstrated that they're not afraid to just kill a gun owner that they're raiding. Roger Kotanko was a well respected gunsmith, who was shot in his shop within seconds of the first officer entering with a search warrant. They could have easily arrested him outside of his home workshop, where he wouldn't have been potentially working on a customer firearm, but they waited until he was in the shop with a customer, and handling a pistol. Many people think that was a deliberate move to justify killing him.

It seemed like a very deliberate murder to me too.

Colt Canada is just contracted scraper ,has nothing to do with government policies .

In Canada government buy back is being conducted trough firearms dealers ,so you could claim they all are in on it. While Colt US&Canada might be a bunch of cocksuckers that managed to run their business into the ground once the music stopped on their guns for bribes business model to US military . Just remember price of M4 to US military halved once FN got the job and Colt went bust not long after. CZ are furthest you could get from gun grabing commies. So this flack is quite undeserved.

Government is buying these firearms from businesses and these are buying them from general public. Colt-CZ is only the final destination where these end up in smelter since goverment discovered these so called assault firearms are of no interest to Ukraine as they are unsuitable

Canada has dropped plans to supply banned guns collected in its national buyback program to Ukraine after officials in Kyiv showed little interest, and most of the firearms turned out to be unsuitable for combat.
*few guns Ukraine will be taking i would bet money on will end up as rifles for some Ukrainians officials private collection not as service weapons ,as you can be certain there are some gems among the confiscated guns.

End of the day any country that still bows to the British Royal family is going to take your guns away, will jail you for wrong speak ,debank you and will also be the first ones to stuff you into a digital gulag.

UKstan = europes first Islamic Kalifate
*Times (4 April 2025)reveal that UK police make over 30 arrests per day for ‘offensive’ online communications under vague laws criminalising messages that cause ‘annoyance’, ‘inconvenience’ or ‘anxiety’. Over 12 000 such arrests occurred in 2023 alone, with civil liberties groups warning of a chilling effect on free speech. Most cases do not result in conviction, yet individuals are subjected to police detention and reputational damage merely for expressing controversial views online.
