Dads, help me, please!

Re: Dads, help me, please!

I married a daughter off 2 years ago June. My tab came in at less than $2000 so I was thrilled. Your network of friends, church menbers, Lodge members, co-workers, and kid's friends are a tremendous resource for free labor and donations. The majority of women are wedding fanatics and will readily help to make that day "special". Ask around and you would be surprised at the hidden talents of those around you. A grooms friend worked in the restaurant business and was happy to provide a nice spread if we bought his grocery list. Another lady volunteered to make the cake. Ladies and relatives decorated with items purchased from a Chinese mail order novelty shop. Flowers were bought for the wedding party, but several simple bouquets bought from Safeway were reduced to simple 2-3 flower settings and distributed on tables as dressing. The local senior center provided the reception area with kitchen use and tables, chairs etc. for a donation. Over 105 were in attendance for the reception by the way.
Good planning in advance, create a vision for what your daughter may want, ask and work your networks, and delegate so this is a "special day" for everyone involved.

No need to take part in the afore-mentioned"wedding industrial complex" Think outside the box and it will come together fine!!
