Fieldcraft Daily wear winter jacket that has a natural cammo

I am looking for a jacket that is warm, 100 percent water proof/ wind proof and breathable, in earth toned colors. I want it to work as natural uraban camo as well as dead woodlands cammo. Coyote tan is the best bet but I fear that I will resemble a deer at long range. I walk in hunting areas and am worried an old timer with a scope will misteak me for a deer.

Anyone wear coyote tan? I dont think the OD green color will be most use in the dead woods of winter or urban. Maybe grey, dark brown, or the 511 tundra color? I have the 5 in 1 jacket now and it works great. I want to switch away from black.

Who makes the best daily wear jackets that dont make me stand out in a crowd but give an advantage in natural cammo? Im thinking 5.11

No such animal. If it's 100% waterproof, it's not breathable.

I am partial to Mountain Hardware gear although it doesn't come in "tacticool" colors. You can select some earth tone or subdued combinations in some items. I have handled Arc'teryx gear but never worn any. It seems well constructed.

TAD Gear makes items that seem to be just what you are looking for although I also do not have any personal experience with them.

If it's good, it ain't cheap. Be prepared to spend. However the Mountain Hardware softshell and Patagonia R2 fleece get me through a lot of what I have to deal with in the urban terrain. When I go out in the woods I usually have a ECWCS Gen II Parka at hand. It keeps me dry when it's really coming down.

+1 for Mountain Hardware and TAD.
THey both make good stuff, but like Lonewolf said Mountain Hardware doesnt come in any camo colors

I have several TAD jackets, and they are all great but my everyday fall/winter setup is a lighterweigh "sharkskin" shell(mine is a stealth hoodie w/o the hood) for those cooler days, then I can layer it with one of there ranger hoodies(fleece) and its plenty warm.

The sharkskin material they use is very wind/water resistant, it'll handle a good rain. The hoodie not so much, but i found a water repellant liquid that you can "wash" your clothing in at my local outdoor store that I havent tried on it yet.

The only downside to TAD is that its pricy as all get out, that being said, I would but their stuff again because it fits right and just plain works for me. Here is a link to their site:

i'd haveta agree with this, and add Carhartt with some spray on water repellent. works wonders for me.

Arc'Teryx makes quite a few jackets that would fit your requirements nicely!

Top quality stuff, but you'll pay for it!

Arc'teryx also has a "leaf" division that is more military focuced.

I guess I'm cheap but I have been using an old wool P-Coat for years and still love it. I do have a Carhart (gortex) parka for when it's really raining hard and it also works great.

Where do you live? Its pretty much different winter in CA then in Alaska.

TAD is nice but you need some money to get one.

I can tell by what your looking for your going to have to drop some coin.

TAD makes great stuff as does OTTE, Arcteryx, Patagonia, Mountain Hardware, North Face, etc....

Look for Mountaineering type stuff...
