Hi y'all,

I need your opinion on a dark line on a new NiB bcg that arrive today. When I was inspecting the bcg, I notice the dark line between the 2 holes in carrier. When I tried to feel if there's a gap / crack in the dark line using my nails and don't feel any indication separation.

Should I be concerned on the dark line and contact the dealer or should be good to go.

Thanks in advance,

I would phone / e-mail the manufacturer and express your concerns.

It might be fine and simply cosmetic ... but I am not positive.

Send them the photo as well.

Thank you for your input/opinion. I emailed the manufacturer regarding my concern and ask for replacement if possible. I'll keep you posted if i hear from the them.

Got an email back from the sales and they said that the dark line is a tooling mark which is the reason that the bcg was sold with a discount ($76 shipped).

Thanks gain, this gives me a peace of mind on the bcg.

I agree with their claim. Part of my professional career is testing and inspecting metal parts for failures, so crack detection is a big part of that. Based on your picture - that is definitely not a crack, and the pattern of the line indicates a tooling mark. Nothing to worry about there, shoot it and be happy.

Just want to provide an update. I was able to go to the range last weekend and the BCG run perfectly (no issue). Now I need to buy more ammo and I'm contemplating on wolf (steel case) or brass while gradually getting my reloading equipment ready. I have not tried using steel case yet that's why I'm a little bit hesitant.

I found wolf ammo on SGAmmo and I just need to wait for pay check day :).

If you're going to reload, you'd be better off paying the extra for brass. The steel isn't relodable.

Glad the BGC worked out.

Sorry for the late reply. The BCG was from White Label Armory. I found a site were they post good deals that members find and one of the post was this BCG and WLA was running a closeout sale. I was waiting for the Toolcraft BCG that I found previously that was $69 but no funds during that time and this came I and it's was hard to pass on.

I just tested it for a few rounds (20) and it perform as expected but it's to early determine the quality.
