I loved the original Death Wish movies, gave a 32 caliber handgun new respect.

Watching the new version with Bruce Willis is a Doctor and getting back at the bad guys with a Glock. But near the end I had to start laughing because this is all set in Chicago.

The good Doctor goes in to a gun store in Chicago and comes out with not only another hand gun, but a fully automatic AR15 rifle. He kills the bad guy at the end with a dozen rounds from the AR. So when the cops ask him about his Glock he says it was long gone. Then they ask about his new guns and he says go ask for "Candy" (don't remember the exact name) at the Gun Store.

I am pretty sure it takes a LONG time to purchase a hand gun in the Capital City of Crime Chicago and NO WAY would he be getting a fully automatic AR!

I like Bruce Willis but this is a crappy remake. The guns are apparently purchased using guidelines from the Brady Campaign or some such crap, since Chicago put the last few gun stores out of business years ago, the entire thing is not even plausible.

Just remember, a lot of Democrats whole perspective of guns and how people get them is based solely on what they see in movies and TV shows. Hollywood fucks gun owners (intentionally) every damn chance they get.

As an Illinois resident, the movie is absurd. " Fill out this form and you'll have your foid card in a few weeks," more like 3+ months. No gunshops in that area anymore, and as posted just another "see how easy it is to buy a fully semiautomatic ar15 scary gun."

Gun sales aside, I thought the plot of the new one was okay. I like the original much better. The way bad guys were targeted seemed more accurate in the original being just random shitbags.

Same with The Mechanic. Charles Bronson was a true badass. Both remakes (Death Wish and Mechanic) were okay but lacking in my opinion compared to the originals.

I thought casting Bruce Willis as a doctor was a stretch, so I'm guessing script wasn't written with him in mind. I'd move to Chicago tomorrow if I could get a happy switch that easily. :p

Watchable it was but again it is hollywoodland fiction and another lack of innovation in hollywoodland making a poor remake of another good original. Their portrayal of purchasing a firearm especially in Chi town was their attempt to show it is that easy not factual. Anti gunners to include hollywoodland think all ARs are select fire assault rifles, they are ARs and military weapons fully semiautomatic!
