I have everything else to build a lower. For now I need a cheap mil-spec trigger that is single stage and isnt total crap. All I need is the trigger, hammer disconnector as I have all the other parts.

Brand names that get the job done and wont break the bank?

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

Daniel Defense, Armalite, DPMS, Palmetto State, CMMG take your pick.

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

I think most of us have changed to something other than stock trigger, for the most part they just don't cut it. For an inexpensive single stage trigger, take a look at what Bill Springfield has to offer.

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

For under a 100 I would rec a mega arms trigger...lil bit better than stock

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

If I recall BCM has a nickel boron coated trigger, I shot a friends and it was nice and smooth but not real light but you can group well with it. I also have the Mega trigger it, helps, but I got a KAC used and it was much better. For the third option I bought a DPMS Titanium Nitride coated hammer and used stock trigger parts it is as smooth as the BCM but dont use it with other TN or NB coated parts they seem to bind with them and get you back to a stock trigger feel.

Try the new ALG ACT trigger. It is the smoothest milspec trigger I have ever felt. No grit whatsoever.

I've heard good things about this fire control group (trigger)!
I plan on trying one in the future.

Rumor has it that this company is owned by the Geisselle Trigger guy's wife. If true, I would think they would be GTG on that info alone.

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

I have had good luck with DPMS.

I may try one of the ALG triggers in the future.

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

Exactly what I was looking for. Now to get the coated or uncoated?

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

Definitely smooths and lightens the pull, but beware, will not fire some NATO stuff I have (unknown origin). Works great on .308 commercial stuff. Be mindful of anything that cannot eat any ammo you may need to cycle through it, if that fits your weapon description.

I am working on this as we type. A stock hammer spring brings back hideous creep, but am sure it would fire NAPO stuff, it did before the 15min job.

Sucks to be a retired olde farte and cash limited with the wife watching the CC bill........

Oh yeah, this is about a LR-308. I gather than 5.56 rifles are not so touchy about hammer strike with their dinky little cartridges.

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

Here's a second vote for a Bill Springfield trigger...probably the best stock configuration you can buy...first choice would be a JP trigger with the lighter trigger spring (about 4 lbs) they are awesome but not very cheap.

Yes, Bills wife Amy is the owner of ALG, and the two single stage triggers are her current product line. I am a Geisselle junkie, and I dunno if I could ever be persuaded to use another trigger.

Re: Decent inexpensive single stage mil triggers ar15?

Tons of folks use the standard lower parks kit trigger and add the JP yellow spring kit cures tons of complaints and only runs $12
