Looking for some input from individuals that have a defiance deviant with the guardian magwell and are using ARC mags in 6.5CM. If you use that combo how does it run? What chassis/stock are you running with that combo? I’ll be using the Area 419 extensions which seems to add some much needed geometry to the follower. My ARC mags run 100% in my RPR. I’ll be having my first custom done here soon and have been trying to decide on an action. Thanks!!!

followers seem to be the biggest area of debate. I have tried MK and LRI and the LRI are light years ahead of the MK. It never seemed like the MK fit in the spring correctly nor did they seem to align correctly in the mag. My 6.5CM load is too long for ARC mags so i only ended up using them with 6 dasher. Check your OAL before you buy.

I’m currently using them on my RPR. With a SAAMI spec chamber and 140 ELD’s .02 off of lands after 1200 rounds on the barrel I’m at 2.257 CBOG so I’ve fit in the mag so far.

check your overall length to make sure that they wont be too long. I am running 130 VLD at -0.010 and they are over 2.900 a tad. The biggest issue I ran into was that the rounds would get forced forward as I cycled thru the rounds and would eventually get hung up under the feed ramp in my surgeon action.

I've used ARC mags before and they worked well for me shooting 6.5 Creedmoor. A lot of the people that have been having problems with them, from what I've seen, are shooting 6BR or 6Dasher and need some kind of spacer kit to make the round feed properly and keep from nose diving.

Actually the 6 dasher in my gun is money in these mags. I can't get 6.5cm fo work.

That's interesting. I've only ever (previous to this) heard of problems with Dasher or other BR-based cases.

What's the issue that you're having with 6.5CM when it doesn't work?

One thing I did find out about the ARC mags is they do need to be clean. If they get dusty you'll have problems, so make sure to open them up and wipe any dust out with a rag or your shirt if you notice problems.

I think it is a combo between the feed ramp design on a Surgeon action and how long the OAL of my pet load is.

Huh, interesting. I was running it in a Christensen action, but my loads do fit even in a Magpul AICS mag, so they're not crazy long. I'm debating whether I want to buy ARC or Accurate mags for my build this summer (which I've decided will be 6BR, hence why I'm a little hesitant on the ARC mags).

I would try an ARC with LRI follower.

I had the same issues with ARC mags and a Defiance action in 6.5 Creedmoor.

One of my ARC mags and Defiance Elite action feed my 6 Dasher no problems but this is with the MK follower. The other mag I don't like the way the follower sits in it. May try the LRI follower because I do like the low profile of the mag.
