I'm taking this up with the manufacturer. Hopefully it gets resolved to my liking one way or the other.

How does the reticle look at lower power if you have a good sight picture where your eye is in correct alignment with the scope? Do you still see the curving at the edges? If not, it may have more to do with your technique than the scope. Although this would not likely change the distortion at the center. Do you notice any difference when you adjust the parallax, or does that scope not have a parallax setting since it is of lower magnification?

i never use my 3.2 - 17 any lower than 6x i find the "tunneling effect" distracting but i will check at the lower setting today

I've never seen what you're seeing, and would probably want one that didn't do that.
