Night Vision Diagnose my PVS-4 issue.

Two years ago I bought a PVS-4 from a large retailer. Fired it up, looked fine, took the batteries it and put it in the safe.

Tried it two nights ago. No reticle and the image is small, blurred badly especially around the edges and is sitting in the bottom of the tube so I noticeably have to look down. It’s like a large coin sized image in a huge tube. The retailer suggested I ask Ed Wilcox about a repair but first I’d like to ask the internet.

How was it stored?

Caps on? Batts out? Dropped?

Caps on batteries out, in a padded case. Not dropped.

If only parts of the tube are illuminated and the outer edges are black the it could be going to air. Or losing vacuum. That’s the only thing I can think that would happen just from being stored.
