I was wondering if any of you guys on the hide had any experience with this little rifle. Savage arms website doesn't even show it or have I found anything on Google. By the way I tried your search engine and it gave me 200 results on nothing. What the problem is, it doesn't have the HS stock. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

It should be a heavy bbl 308 with some low end deer scope on it riding in a regular synthetic stock.
Sell everything but the bbl'd action and carry on.

yeah I do have a couple questions. The first is what kind of accuracy should I be expecting? I haven't shot in almost 15years so I mainly will be working on the fundamentals this year. Also with the DM can I get any other magazines when I change stocks?

its pretty damn accurate out the box which surprised me because the stock that came with it is junk...just all plastic furniture..but i put mine into a choate tactical stock simply bc i could just drop it right in using factory dbm..i know that if u go with bell and carlson or mcmillan or other similar stocks they will have to be inletted for your dbm..the choate is fully aluminum bedded and took 2 mins to install...a huge plus for me..get the right scope and a decent stock and im sure youll love it

They have what you need at midway right now...or you can get a sharpshootersupply 9 round magazine for about $90 that will fit into the metal that you already have. Problem is you will likely be waiting for several months. SSS also has an acme universal magazine that might work, but I don't think they have any of those in stock right now either.

It seems that everyone that shoots them love them, plus being able to work on my own gun is a major plus.

If it is your 1st Savage rifle ,it will not be your last. Great shooters out of the box and very easy to customize yourself too.

I'm so excited words can't describe. Everyone says how smooth Remington actions are but that Savage is pretty damn nice. I was hoping to get a example of Savage "out of the box" accuracy but I'm getting it regardless.

The action, trigger, and barrel are the same components that make up savages best model 10's. You are off to a good start. Just ditch that stock ASAP. I am a choate user and couldn't be happier, considering it is a bolt on option at a fraction of the cost of a Macmillan or hs precision.

Thanks exactly what I was looking for. I do plan on changing the stock just there are so many options to consider. I'm kinda fond of the chassis systems its just I kinda want maximum accuracy. I was looking at the XLR chassis.

hey also, click my name and look at my posts. i did a few things that will make your bolt feel a little better. plus i post in alot of savage threads. its all i own so i cant really contribute too much on other platforms. also i have searched for alot of stuff thats savage related. if you need something i may have a link for it

Thanks Axeman I will do that. I think I'm in love after handling the model 10 it is a badass piece of hardware. Plus being able to do all my own work is a major plus.

Any stock designed for the savage short actions with DBM and a 4.410" action screw spacing will work.

I bought that rifle about a year ago. It has undergone some modifications. New stock (B&C), DBM from CDI, 20 MOA mount (EGW), Burris rings, Nikon 6-18 Buckmasters scope until I win the lotto!

I'm aware of that. They were doing a run of them 'at the end of the month' when I ordered two of them back in June. I still didn't get one. Just because they are doing a run doesn't mean they'll do enough to fill all the orders they already have. If you just recently ordered them and are number 102 on the list and they are only doing 100 of them then you're screwed. That's what happened to me...

same boat man. i wanted 2 when i had a T&T back at the end of may. it came back at the end of june and i wasnt able to get any. i just called lisa a few days ago. she said i was good for three and i gave her my cell number so id get my call. its a hassle, but they work so well. plus dropping the same amount on CDI as i would for 3 or 4 mags for new bottom and one mag is your only option really. i love jeffs stuff. might consider it in a bit after i wind down all my projects and do a budget check.

I ended up buying a Ruger from a friend of mine. I'm kinda glad because it groups half an inch to 3/4 " for 5 shots. Over the winter she's getting a Krieger 5r and a accurate innovations stock. Plus the 300 win mag is good for any game in the US. I might even shoot a little NRA high power while in building Savage percision rifle.

I know this is an ancient thread but I was wondering if the tan stock that comes on the Dick's has an aluminum bedding block like the black Choate on their website.
