Suppressors Did TBAC ever try the 6.5-338 ultra?

On the old scout site I asked if TBAC ever tried reducing the bore of the 338 ultra to 6.5 or .30 . There seemed to be some interest then the site changed and I forgot for a while. Just curious if it was ever built and how it metered.

We cut a .338 Ultra in both 6.5 and 30 cal. Both the 6.5 and .30 were within 1 dB of the 338 Ultra.

Thanks. I was curious if the same reduction that the 6.5 ultras provided would translate to the 338 but I guess I was wrong.

Its not as simple as just reducing the bore. If I remember correctly the 338 can metered better than the 30 cal version on a 308.

How does the 338 compare to a ultra 9 sound wise on a .308?

Are 16" suppressed 308s a lot louder than 20" or does it just sound that way because the muzzle is closer? Thanks

338 is a little better. Shorter barrels are louder since more pressure is introduced.
