I was offered a TRG41 in 300 Win Mag. The rifle looks in good shape, and the cheekpiece is in slightly different shape as the one in TRG42. Are they basically the same rifle? Were there significant improvements made when TRG42 was introduced?

I don't have pictures - the cheekpiece is more rounded as compared to me TRG22. So the magazine is not interchangeable?

Old thread but someone might found this intresting.

You can use trg-41 mags in trg-42 but other way doesn’t work because of buttons in trg-42 mags. Trg-42 stock has cut for those and you can do it for trg-41 to use trg-42 mags and get easier access to mag. Trg-42 has also more vertical pistol grip than trg-41 and cheeckpiece is not same.

Trg-41 and early trg-42 in 338 lm had 12” twist rate and latter had 10”.

There is few trigger upgrades. First ones had better adjustments but latter are more robust. Latest have an alloy trigger guard.

2013 trg-42 got double plunger setup.
