Typically I just turn the rifle with muzzle down in a vise, so that the rifle is vertical. I then will put a small cup filled with hoppes and let it set over night. I didn't have any hoppes so I ran butch bore shine.
I pulled my rifle out of the safe tonight, it's been 2 months since I cleaned the muzzle and I guess I didn't wipe off all the carbon/solvent because in the corners of the brakes weregummed up. Clean it up, no problem. I did notice the top and bottom sides, inside the brake turned red/green. Thinking this is just a reaction from Butch Bore shine. Has this happen to anyone else?
