Why would they discontinue this one :

I see they make the same one still but with a 875 gas block

22" is pretty long for what most people want out of a small-frame semi/precision/DMR style AR15; which is kind of what the 6 ARC is targeting.

If you're prepared to lug around a 22" pipe you'd probably strongly consider larger cartridges. I'd imagine most buyers for this barrel ordered in 16", 18" or 20".

Yea, I went from a 18” to a 14.5” and I don’t think I’d go longer than 16” from here on. Pretty happy with the performance and overall length of the 14.5” and see no need to change it up. That said, 18” is the sweet spot if you’re trying to maximize the cartridge while also keeping it from being too long.

They still make a similar barrel. 22”. But with a 0.975 gas block. Not sure if other changes.

This is for a gas gun match gun. Currently uses a 20” 556 with a 338 ultra can

I'd rock the 20" if you're running it with a can in comps. That keeps the 0.750" gas journal you seek, and you won't miss those 2" in terms of performance.
