Rifle Scopes distance between scope rings

bout to put these Seekins rings on the EGW mount, by my way of thinking the rings should be as far apart as operationally possible, Is there a better more experienced theory on this matter?

I usually place them in the center of the tube between knobs and occular or objective. Never an issue and sure you won't as long as they are installed correctly.

I would just try to avoid mounting them right up right against the erector housing, otherwise it probably doesn't make much difference. I usually leave just enough room to mount a level between the objective and the forward mount which puts the ring pretty much in the middle of the tube. Same for the rear mount, ie, middle of the tube as well.
