Gunsmithing Distance to rifling...short or long is better?

Re: Distance to rifling...short or long is better?

Depends on bullet and mag system if im shooting a berger vld I usually have my reamor made where im about 2.910 to lands and that gives me about 2.840 with a 175 Mk so im good with either bullet ,I normally run a badger m5 bottom metal and I can get a accurate mag without the block that will let me seat out to 2.980ish so ive got a ton of room ,I like the base of the bullet close to the shoulder junction to give me max powder capacity.hope this helps Dustin
