I found some of the best diving I've done right here in the Rocky Mountains! I've dove Canada, the Pac NW, SOCAL, the Arabian Gulf and the Maledives/Indian Ocean. Anyhow, I live and work in the Rockies now and hadn't dove a whole lot for too long. I had all the gear but the only guys I knew here that dove as well were VERY fair weather. I finally got a hold of a couple college/diving buddies who weren't pussies and we dove Fremont Lake just North of Pinedale, WY this last weekend. Water there is frigid but crystal clear with visibility exceeding 60ft in places. Fish are abundant and LARGE. If there are any experienced divers here in the vicinity that would like to hook up and dive Fremont next month shoot me a PM. Water temp @ 40ft was 39-40 degrees so a drysuit or heavy wetsuit is a must. I'm wearing a semi-dry 7mil with a 7mil Farmer John over the top. Got this Laker with a spear gun right behind the gills
We loaded our gear in a kayak and canoe, paddled across the lake for an hr and dove the side of the lake opposite the campground from the shore. Outfreakinstanding day!
