I know sort of wrong spot but lots of traffic and smart folks in this one.

So I have a scope I really like for hunting but the windage turret does not lock. When I carry the rifle on a sling on my shoulder I find that the turret spins from rubbing against me. I was thinking about putting on a piece of bike inner tube or something like that or even electric tape to hold it in place. I dial elevation and hold wind. Does anyone have any different and more elegant solutions?

Get right size for under your turret cap. Take cap off, place O ring, press down on cap and tighten screws. Still allows for adjustment but makes harder to turn by accident.
You can use a flat rubber washer too.

I taped the windage on my 4-16 pat after missing a coyote by an inch due to the windage being 2moa off to the right. Wasn’t impressed.

Put it back to zero, and couple wraps of electrical tape kept it from happening again.
