DIY Rotating Reloding Press Riser

Ok, first off... don't laugh at my video skills, and my nasal congestion (been sick with the crud for almost a month now). Posted this on the Creedmoor forum and thought I'd throw it over here too.

This is a reloading press riser mount that I built in order to get my presses up a little higher and to allow me to not have to have two presses mounted to the bench side by side taking up valuable space. Also, it keeps me from having to remove/replace my presses if I just use a single location. I hate having to find a place to store the press that I am not using. It is 1/2" 6061 aluminum and the top pivots which allows me access to either press in just a matter of seconds. It took me a fair amount of time to build and if I were to do it again I would just weld the pieces instead of drilling-tapping-bolting it together. In fact, I'd probably just make it out of 1/8" or 3/16" steel and press brake the main riser body. As it is, it is VERY stout!! The top is effectively 1 inch thick (two 1/2" plates stacked).

I did a similar thing on my bench. I got some 6" X 6" 3/8 wall square steel tube remnant pieces at the local steel vendor for a reduced price. I then marked the hole patterns of various reloaders on one end and drilled through so I could mount them on one end of the tube. The tube is bolted down to the bench with a large bolt through the bottom wall that rests on the bench, so the entire section of tube can be rotated around its center, with a reloader mounted on each end. In these photos I have a cheap Lee loader mounted for depriming. I drilled an extra hole through the top of the tube, to allow the spent primers to fall into a plastic box that rests inside the tube. The tube shown in these photos was cut with a 45 degree angle on one end so that another mounting bolt had easy access. I had planned to have some similar tubes, square on each end, with a reloader on each end, but now I might make a 4 pointed or 6 pointed star plate to rest on top, to hold 4 or 6 reloaders that can be rotated into position on the top of the tube.

The three holes on the back end of the tube allow it to be rotated slightly left or right from perpendicular to the table. Right now it is rotated so that a person can stand on the left and operate the press with his right hand, and the handle goes to his right.
