Does anybody make a custom 700 footprint action with a floating bolt head, pinned recoil lug, and integral base; that is compatible with a rem/age nut?

And it has to be left handed.

The purpose in all this is to have a switch barrel custom that required minimal smithing because I could still pick everything out but the only thing you would really need a smith for is to bed the stock or thread the barrel and you wouldn't even need bedding if you got a chassis?

I don't really care about the multiple calibers as much as I just think it's so convenient to be able to do your own barrel changes and like the potential versatility of different calibers. I know you would have to get different bolts or bolt faces so that would make the bighorn desirable since you can buy a bolt face individually.

Anybody have thoughts on this it seems like it would be a nice option but I don't see a lot of people doing it.

Anybody tried the Shilen DGR action(manufactured by stiller)? You'd be able to use stocks and triggers etc form the rem 700. Seems like it has everything I want except integral pic rail. Is the reason the barrel nut system is not more popular because you are so limited on what barrels to choose from?

If you went with the Shilen action you would be able to choose pre threaded Savage barrels from Shilen, Criterion, Broughton, and I think Rock makes them upon request.

Does anyone have experience with these in how they compare in accuracy to a top notch barrel from Bartlein or Krieger?

It seems like this would be a really easy solution to having one gun/optic setup with easy barrel changes and multiple calibers while not sacrificing too much in accuracy or custom features.

Am I missing anything?

Edit: Just found this thread ( http://www.snipershide.com/shooting.../92967-gonna-try-out-shilen-dgr-5-months.html ) and ( http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/sniper-hide-gunsmithing/185215-shilen-dgr.html ) , so if they won't sell additional bolts or bolt heads it would make the multiple caliber option hard unless PTG could make you something. It would be convenient for having a quick easy to change short lightweight hunting barrel and a longer heavy target barrel.
