Short answer is yes, more bearing surface equals more resistance, same as weight.
That said, there are some boat-tails an cast bullets that have a very limited bearing surface and will have less pressure over many others with the same weight.
Hope this did not confuse the issue but, all ammo (factory or reloads)is all about how all the different variables are stacked at the time the primer fires.
