New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Mini Chassis all the way. By the time you buy the DBM and then have it bedded, you have spent more time and money then just getting the chassis.....If you don't need a custom ordered stock you can go to StockStocks.com.
As stated, Manners will inlet the stock however you want. They are great folks and I absolutely love using their products on my own rifles.
I went mini-chassis with my Manners T4A. While it performed okay without the skim bedding, it went from a consistent .5-MOA rifle to a consistent .2-.3 rifle. That is with 5-shot groups.
This is the first target I shot after the skim bed. And the round at the top was thrown due to inconsistent cheek pressure on the stock as I was getting more comfortable behind the rifle. If I do my part the rifle easily shoots under .25-MOA.
edit to add...
One consideration with the mini-chassis is whether you want the bottom metal coated. Since the chassis is glued in place, if you want the barreled action coated anything other than black, IMHO the bottom metal doesn't look good. So, if you are planning to coat the metal tan, green, grey, etc.. you might want the inlet for a Badger M5 instead of the mini-chassis. The performance will be great either way.
