I just got my new Surefire Socom can I bought from a vendor on here and it showed up lightly carbonned up with some light marks from being previously mounted. Is this standard from being tested at Surefire?

I wouldn't call it dirty but mine did show up and it appeared to have been fired. As said previously surefire tests each one.

Some burn marks, but not with a layer of soot or anything like that.

The stainless steel inside's still shiny when new.

Then there's always dealers who will "test" your cans for you, run a few c-mags through to get 'em glowing a nice cherry red.

Work out the bugs.

You should thank them. ;)
