Do you drink anything while shooting?

While at Camp Perry I used to drink lots of Gatorade, that is until I drank too much and it made me rather unpleasantly ill. Then I drank nothing but water..... until I drank too much and it made me ill. The combo, for me was to water down the Gatorade to about 50-50. That seemed to be what kept me hydrated but didn't have side affects of too much of a good thing.

I don't drink anything while on the actual range. I may drink coffee in my travel mug on the way there.

Then, leaving, I will stop somewhere and get some ice and switch to unsweetened Gold Peak Tea and add my own fake sweetener.

At work, I sometimes have water with a flavor added to it that also has electrolytes.

Or, I might drink a Gatorade Zero.

When hunting, I have large squeeze bottle that I carry water in and it goes in the cargo pocket of my hunting pants. Even when cold, you can get dehydrated.

Uh, if you’re getting ill by drinking too much water…you gotta chill. No joke. You can die doing that.

Agree, the G2 is better than regular also.

Simply stay hydrated, most folks can stay with water, try to avoid soda, etc. The Liquid IV, they have a sugar free one and others are ok, if you can get your hands on Cerasport, that's the ticket. Usually one water, one xx drink rotation is a good idea-don't get behind, know your limits folks. If you are really getting hot, one good thing to have in the cooler if you can is a couple gallon or two gallon bags of ice. Drape one over your neck and sit on the other or while sitting, place in your crotch between your thighs to get that body temp down.

Oh-yeah after you donate blood-don't help your family offload their household in south Florida in the summer! Want to talk about your head tingling!

This I know. I no longer put myself in those situations. I'm too old for such silliness. Seriously, much of the symptoms you illustrate are what I experienced. Not conducive to performing at the highest level at a National event. Getting old sucks.

Man. That sucks. Just curious, how much water do you think you drank?

Pappy van Winkle. It's good for the nerves.
15 or 23? And how much did they ask for it?
I had a bit of luck a few years ago and ended up with several bottles of Pappy's of various ages. It's good but I prefer Horse Soldier Premium. Its easily available most places and only about $55 per bottle.

A girl took part n some radio show contest to see who cold drink the mmost water. She drank about a gallon and a half and a short while later died. Her family sued the show and won, I believe.

I don’t drink alcohol around firearms. Pretty much at all. Ever.

But!

At the range I have Hydrate from WeGoHome. For the hot days

And after shooting

Typically I have tea

If it was to be alcohol

It would be whiskey ( scotch )

Water makes you ill? Are you sure it was the water?

No one here is getting hyponatremia. You'd have to drink a fuck load of distilled or bottled water that's not spring or mineral all day long without eating to do that lol.

Ultima Replenisher in your water. Best sugar free product out there. Drink it daily since 2003 when it was sponsor supplied, been spending my own money on it since 07 with no plans on stopping. Great product also for kids, elderly and diabetics.

Well if you were humpin a ruck in the jungle, you were already dehydrated I'm assuming due to the humidity. I'm guessing half of your electrolyes were already gone. Though, the water you drank; it had no minerals in it? And where were you getting all the water from on a jungle training op? That's crazy.

We filtered water….i just didn’t add enough salt and sugar

It was also three weeks in the making. It sucked

Ahhh I see. So a perfect storm. Normally, this does not happen. Joes training, especially in a jungle or arctic warfare or like pro athletes in the summer months are under stresses normal humans are not, sometimes EVER in their lives. This is extraordinarily rare. Most of the time you dehydrate, not accidentally flush the elctrolytes out by overhydrating. And MRE's have a lot of sodium in them as well, which is why I'm so confused.

I was responding to @jpjulian who said he indeed got it. And then, as you know, @Zebulon chimed in saying he did too.

I agree most will never get it.
