I am all about helping new people. However your post has so many problems, I wouldn't even know where to begin to un-f*k it.

Dots or Hashes, Mil or MOA, Do the research, look through some, decide for yourself, you will get as many dif answers as you want. I like Lines and MOA....

mount your duplex scope in one of the aimpoint/eotech 3x magnifier flip mounts. flip it back and forth between your left and right eye. if you do it fast enough, it will give you stereoscopic vision, which will let your brain naturally see the range to the target. this is like bindon aiming concept, only better for snipers. mil dots are a waste of money. hope this isn't violating any opsec rules

Mike simmer down brother I know they were invented for range finding just wondering if most people used them or just laser range finders, etc. I guess a lot of people shoot at known distances/targets so it wouldn't even matter...should have re-phrased my question. Just wondering what most people used and like the best...

I really am a newb with optics. I've always just hunted with a Leupold duplex and haven't shot over 250 yards. We got a new place and if I got good enough in the next year I'd like to try a doe at 750 or so...
