Documented Type I Garand

I have been stewing over this rifle for several months and I finally pulled the trigger on her. I had to sell a couple other garands to pay for her but I think it was worth it. Shes a minty Type I NM garand with documentation.
No I will not be firing her, I have plenty of other garands to shoot. Type I's in this condition are somewhat rare

Can u explain the type 1 to me? I own several garands, one is a Winchester national match ( I don’t know if it was built that way or someone had it done) it belonged to a good friend of mine who passed. I honestly don’t know that much about them.
 
There are two types NM Garands, Type I and Type II. Type I's in original configuration are somewhat rare compared to Type II's . As I understand all original Armory built NM garands were on Springfield recivers

Wish the government still valued us enough to sell us surplus rifles.....



CMP is not government and I am in agreement the CMP does a better job at getting rifles sold than the DCM did.
