Does a monocular have any benefits over binos?

I was looking at the Vortex Recon RT at 10xs.

But I was also looking at their Viper RT binos, which are also 10x.

Other than size and portability, it would seem there is no benefit to a monocular.....especially considering the price point is so similar and they both have the same reticle.

Am I tracking on this?

Weight is the main advantage. I have a solo R/T with mil reticle and like it because of it's compact size and weight. It is a little redundant if you have a good laser rangefinder though.
