Does dialing elevation effect parallax?

This was posted on another forum, just wondering if there is any truth to it?

I don't know the answer but I wonder if the question was came up with by someone selling Christmas Tree reticles.

If the target distance changes, yes. It’ll be off.

If you only dial for the same target, no.

Going from 100yds, to 800yds, you’ll see the difference.

On cheaper / older scopes, I’ve witnessed this phenomenon personally.

On a newer, quality scope? Not at all.
