Man that's cheap, a thread protector damn near that money.
Why not find a local 'smith to do it for you. Mine did it for $50 and took about 4 days because he works a full time job servicing mil rifles at the local base.
I called GAP today and got some poor kid who was being trained that day on Customer Service. LOL poor kid did ok tho (I know how it is as I work in Customer Service).
They said it would be about $50 to chop and recrown but they recommend a complete barreled action refinish which is about $260 so I have some saving to do. Plus the cost of blueprinting the action it's going to cost me what my MCM M40A1 HTG stock is going to cost so I'll just end up getting the stock first and getting her shooting before I send it in to GAP.
