If you were “more well informed” you would know that Nazi’s were socialist as well.I dunno, does the other half really want to revert back to becoming slave owners again?
These are the extremes the media paints both halves. The media's whole job is to highlight the extremes to keep eye balls glued on their message. You're other a socialist/commie or you're a nazi flag waving racists.
Idiots on both sides eat it up.
Do you actually believe All those votes are legitimate??
Well informed? In the Bear Pit?If you were “more well informed” you would know that Nazi’s were socialist as well.
agree and will add this thought - what do you think these people that “think” they want what they say they do have achieved through rioting, looting , etc just to get there way and get a pass on it and now it has boiled over into the presidential election, complacency to this is the original avenue to which to lay blameIMO, most votes for Biden/Harris were against Trump, not because they are enthusiastic about Biden/Harris or their proposed policies.
There's certainly a small group that wants some form of socialism. However, I think a larger portion just doesn't understand what that actually pertains. These past couple of generations have had it really good, and have accumulated a lot of wealth. The quality of life of the average American today is much better then it was generations ago. Life is so good, that we have to make up imaginary problems - like how to navigate gender fluidity and non-binary genders (which ironically enough has been the marker for when all advanced democracies start to fail). I think these same generations are allured by the appeal of doing good through idealistic altruism, but they don't understand what that really entails, nor do they understand the behavioral economics of how socialism de-incentivizes productivity through lack of reward. It's appealing on an emotional level, but those that approach the subject through a lense of objectivity and pragmatism can see through the veneer of BS. Highly emotional people seem to lack that ability to approach a subject with objectivity and pragmatism, hence why socialism seems to resonate with that group of people more.
As far as that small group that actively wants socialism - they are mostly made up of brainwashed fucktards that have no clue how good they have it in the US. They aren't worldly or wise, and have very little knowledge on world affairs as a whole. Their perception of the US is from a very narrow band of experience,
The only part of the economy that President Trump did better than most of the last 8 presidents on was wage growth. That definitely benefits the lower and middle class. I run a small construction company. There are only 5 employees in the whole company. I made 4 times as much money this year as I did the year Trump took office. I start carpenters at $15,000 to $20,000 more than I started at in 2008. I do it for 2 reasons. The first is that I want my employees to have a high quality of life. The second is that I have to pay more than everyone else to get the best guys, and everyone else is paying a lot. In 2008, when I started as a carpenter, the economy was so bad that I got promoted twice without a pay increase. The company I worked for went from nearly 100 employees to under 20.The reality is Democrats are popular as a party because they promise to give things to the lower and middle class, doesn't matter if they actually follow through on it. Their social media is much better than Republicans, and the mass media supports them at every turn. Trump was what angry people wanted in 2016, a non-politician that was going to buck the system, plus many independants didn't vote for Trump in 2016, they voted for anyone BUT Clinton. Unfortunately his stupid antics got old really quick. Funny this time around many independants didn't like Biden either, but they voted for anyone BUT Trump.
To be honest it's actually amazing Trump didn't lose by a landslide, and that should be a positive for us going forward, if we can find a professional candidate by 2024 and appeal more to the lower and middle classes we can easily take back the presidency. If Trump had an ounce of professionalism, and stopped spounting stupid stuff, he'd have won this election, he only has himself to blame for how he behaves. Covid was just bad luck, and without covid, Trump probably would have won too, no one could have fixed Covid, but Trump looked like an idiot contradicting top virus experts, the CDC, etc. at every turn, refusing to take it serious while 235,000 Americans died.
It simply comes down to if Republicans want to remain in control you have to appeal more to the lower and middle classes, not just the rich and corporations.
The median household income has not increased in 20 years significantly, and that's not including inflation, which is gamed to be lower than it really is, meaning the middle class is going backwards. More Americans are sliding closer and closer to poverty. Democrats promise to help them while Republicans try to reduce those benefits. Not hard to guess which is more popular.
Trump gave huge tax breaks to the rich and corporations while giving nothing to the middle class. No one believes trickle down economics works anymore. Democrats talk about making the rich and corporations pay their fair share, that's always going to be popular with the masses.
21% of the US population are on some sort of government assistance, I'd imagine they'd love to have more assistance and Democrats promise that while Republicans try to reduce it every chance they get.
The average student loan debt is almost $40k, Democrats are promising student loan forgiveness, Republicans meanwhile fight loan forgiveness even of colleges shut down for fraud. Not hard to figure out which one college grads are going to favor.
Cleaner air/water, electric cars, alternative power, etc. Americans are becoming more supportive of these things, right or wrong. Democrats support those initiatives while Republicans open up national parks for drilling and mining and do everything they can to keep fossil fuels on top.
Republicans keep talking about reducing social security and other retirement benefits, meanwhile pensions are gone, 50% of Americans have no retirement savings, and even those that have 401k, the average for 50-60 year olds is only $160k. The retirement outlook as a country is bleak, and it's even worse for younger people. Democrats promise not to reduce those benefits.
Also, overall no one believes, right or wrong, that the Democratic party is going to turn the country into China or Russia and communism, it's not even a thought. They do however see the Democrats as wanting to help people. They are seen as being more compassionate and more interested in improving life for the average American. Meanwhile Republicans are seen as really only interested in helping the Rich and Corporations under the ridiculous joke that is trickle down economics. They do see however Republicans trying to take away health care benefits, retirement benefits, unemployment benefits, social security, etc. every chance the get.
In addition a significant number of electoral college votes in blue states are due to non-American populations being counted toward the awarding of electoral college votes. The more they encourage into those blue states, the more likely they are to gain even more electoral college votes. More illegal immigration only helps Democrats in elections.
Republicans keep talking about repealing Obamacare and replacing it with something better, but here we are 4 years later and they've done nothing, and health care is still a joke, prices are skyrocketing, coverage is decreasing, and the quality of care continues to dwindle. No one believes Republicans are going to make health care better at this point, especially after Covid.
Now I don't for one minute think Democrats would do all of that stuff, but it's marketing and Democrats with the full support of the mass media are just better at it. It's only going to get worse for Republicans if they don't widen their appeal.
I know I know, every generation has said this about the previous generations, and I am not unique, but that said, every newer generation as a whole has less and less understanding of the world, we just finally hit close to the bottom.
Indoctrinated college kids overpast 10-20 yearsor are they just to complacent and compliant to believe it could happen in our Country? What could drive an American Patriot to want Socialism? How could they explain themselves?
I can't wait to slap every Liberal who complains about the state of the union if Biden becomes president. It will happen and I'm trying to find a lead filled glove to use.
Oh they'll bitch and moan alright. They'll bring up "Moscow" Mitch and the Supreme Court Justices while they do it.
