Does half the country truly want Socialism?

if we take just the economy, the reason the economy was doing so well prior to this new strain of a Corona Virus, was due to deregulation and allowing a free market economy to show how it can really work. The issue with economics and voting for parties is Democrats and some republicans years ago created “welfare” which is effectively paying someone to fail and assuming there will always be people that need help. Democrats continuously exploit this which has led to the modern idea of equal outcome.

Until this is fully taught - historically correct - its only going to get worse never mind what its done to our deficit.

all the issues at hand won‘t be fixed until people are taught historically correct and they show a willingness to learn

I will predict this - the current Demoratic Party as people want to see it will collapse and the current Republican Party will become the modern version of the party for all - it will happen as long you look at history and then apply the concepts of then to now

Okay boomer. You disparage your great grandkids like that too?

yep, I call it like I see it

not every individual person inside the newer generation has less of an understanding, don't misread what I am saying. just a larger percentage. Programs in our education system like no child left behind ensure it. You don't have to agree, you can be one of those people that has less and less an understanding of the world around you, its a free country (for now)

I dunno, does the other half really want to revert back to becoming slave owners again?

These are the extremes the media paints both halves. The media's whole job is to highlight the extremes to keep eye balls glued on their message. You're other a socialist/commie or you're a nazi flag waving racists.

Idiots on both sides eat it up.
If you were “more well informed” you would know that Nazi’s were socialist as well.

IMO, most votes for Biden/Harris were against Trump, not because they are enthusiastic about Biden/Harris or their proposed policies.

There's certainly a small group that wants some form of socialism. However, I think a larger portion just doesn't understand what that actually pertains. These past couple of generations have had it really good, and have accumulated a lot of wealth. The quality of life of the average American today is much better then it was generations ago. Life is so good, that we have to make up imaginary problems - like how to navigate gender fluidity and non-binary genders (which ironically enough has been the marker for when all advanced democracies start to fail). I think these same generations are allured by the appeal of doing good through idealistic altruism, but they don't understand what that really entails, nor do they understand the behavioral economics of how socialism de-incentivizes productivity through lack of reward. It's appealing on an emotional level, but those that approach the subject through a lense of objectivity and pragmatism can see through the veneer of BS. Highly emotional people seem to lack that ability to approach a subject with objectivity and pragmatism, hence why socialism seems to resonate with that group of people more.

As far as that small group that actively wants socialism - they are mostly made up of brainwashed fucktards that have no clue how good they have it in the US. They aren't worldly or wise, and have very little knowledge on world affairs as a whole. Their perception of the US is from a very narrow band of experience,

Hello folks. I’m disgusted to no end. If some of you have not seen an interview from the 80’s I suggest you all watch it. Should be easy to find on YouTube. Yuri Bezmenov defector of the KGB attempted to warn us about what has just occurred in our country. Ideological subversion....

agree and will add this thought - what do you think these people that “think” they want what they say they do have achieved through rioting, looting , etc just to get there way and get a pass on it and now it has boiled over into the presidential election, complacency to this is the original avenue to which to lay blame

Democrats control the media

The media is a powerful tool and most people don’t pay attention to politics. Even our local news just copies and pastes cnn articles now

Assuming basement dweller and cameltoe don’t either stroke out first, or get hit by a meteor, I see sleepy Joe being pronounced the savior of the Kung Flu. He will oversee and verify that the Kung Flu is vaccinated against, and by golly, he will be the one who got er done. Then he will conveniently perish. If the Senate doesn’t stay with the Republicans, bend over and kiss yer ass bye-bye. Why doesn’t matter. Just say “Cameltoe”. Probably end up being the first dead woman walking to be called Ms. President. Hilldabeast will be jealous right up to the point Cameltoe finds out what Icarus figured out.
If you watch Fox when they do the questioning of the sheeple in the street, age doesn’t seem to matter. Most everyone they talk to is a flaming dumbass, with low-information voter being the term used. Call a dumbass a dumbass. When you are dumb, you suffer. Except in this country, where you get a participation trophy, a wic card, free nobama cell phone and the absolute right to be a lazy, useless dumbass waving a fake college degree.
Orange man got railroaded, but he gets points for the assist. Republicans should be used to the feeling that Orange man is feeling now. They just need look in the mirror to see the definition of moronic fool. The last four years had me hoping that Mr. Kim would launch a nice, fat juicy one right at D.C. Maybe he has his gyro’s correctly matched up, and will put on a show in 2021. Better late, than never.
Thanks! I had to get my relief valve to lift. Pressure was a tad high🥴

A majority are low information voters. The rest are single issue and/or emotion voters.

They actually don't know what they want, nor do they understand how basically fucking anything works.

These are the same clueless faggots that harped on about obamacare only to bitch and cry about how they got dropped from their insurance and now can't afford it.

That whole party is basically your ex girlfriend that would make a giant scene, try to burn the fucking restaurant down and get arrested because the waitress didn't bring her a drink fast enough.

The reality is Democrats are popular as a party because they promise to give things to the lower and middle class, doesn't matter if they actually follow through on it. Their social media is much better than Republicans, and the mass media supports them at every turn. Trump was what angry people wanted in 2016, a non-politician that was going to buck the system, plus many independants didn't vote for Trump in 2016, they voted for anyone BUT Clinton. Unfortunately his stupid antics got old really quick. Funny this time around many independants didn't like Biden either, but they voted for anyone BUT Trump.

To be honest it's actually amazing Trump didn't lose by a landslide, and that should be a positive for us going forward, if we can find a professional candidate by 2024 and appeal more to the lower and middle classes we can easily take back the presidency. If Trump had an ounce of professionalism, and stopped spounting stupid stuff, he'd have won this election, he only has himself to blame for how he behaves. Covid was just bad luck, and without covid, Trump probably would have won too, no one could have fixed Covid, but Trump looked like an idiot contradicting top virus experts, the CDC, etc. at every turn, refusing to take it serious while 235,000 Americans died.

It simply comes down to if Republicans want to remain in control you have to appeal more to the lower and middle classes, not just the rich and corporations.

The median household income has not increased in 20 years significantly, and that's not including inflation, which is gamed to be lower than it really is, meaning the middle class is going backwards. More Americans are sliding closer and closer to poverty. Democrats promise to help them while Republicans try to reduce those benefits. Not hard to guess which is more popular.

Trump gave huge tax breaks to the rich and corporations while giving nothing to the middle class. No one believes trickle down economics works anymore. Democrats talk about making the rich and corporations pay their fair share, that's always going to be popular with the masses.

21% of the US population are on some sort of government assistance, I'd imagine they'd love to have more assistance and Democrats promise that while Republicans try to reduce it every chance they get.

The average student loan debt is almost $40k, Democrats are promising student loan forgiveness, Republicans meanwhile fight loan forgiveness even of colleges shut down for fraud. Not hard to figure out which one college grads are going to favor.

Cleaner air/water, electric cars, alternative power, etc. Americans are becoming more supportive of these things, right or wrong. Democrats support those initiatives while Republicans open up national parks for drilling and mining and do everything they can to keep fossil fuels on top.

Republicans keep talking about reducing social security and other retirement benefits, meanwhile pensions are gone, 50% of Americans have no retirement savings, and even those that have 401k, the average for 50-60 year olds is only $160k. The retirement outlook as a country is bleak, and it's even worse for younger people. Democrats promise not to reduce those benefits.

Also, overall no one believes, right or wrong, that the Democratic party is going to turn the country into China or Russia and communism, it's not even a thought. They do however see the Democrats as wanting to help people. They are seen as being more compassionate and more interested in improving life for the average American. Meanwhile Republicans are seen as really only interested in helping the Rich and Corporations under the ridiculous joke that is trickle down economics. They do see however Republicans trying to take away health care benefits, retirement benefits, unemployment benefits, social security, etc. every chance the get.

In addition a significant number of electoral college votes in blue states are due to non-American populations being counted toward the awarding of electoral college votes. The more they encourage into those blue states, the more likely they are to gain even more electoral college votes. More illegal immigration only helps Democrats in elections.

Republicans keep talking about repealing Obamacare and replacing it with something better, but here we are 4 years later and they've done nothing, and health care is still a joke, prices are skyrocketing, coverage is decreasing, and the quality of care continues to dwindle. No one believes Republicans are going to make health care better at this point, especially after Covid.

Now I don't for one minute think Democrats would do all of that stuff, but it's marketing and Democrats with the full support of the mass media are just better at it. It's only going to get worse for Republicans if they don't widen their appeal.
The only part of the economy that President Trump did better than most of the last 8 presidents on was wage growth. That definitely benefits the lower and middle class. I run a small construction company. There are only 5 employees in the whole company. I made 4 times as much money this year as I did the year Trump took office. I start carpenters at $15,000 to $20,000 more than I started at in 2008. I do it for 2 reasons. The first is that I want my employees to have a high quality of life. The second is that I have to pay more than everyone else to get the best guys, and everyone else is paying a lot. In 2008, when I started as a carpenter, the economy was so bad that I got promoted twice without a pay increase. The company I worked for went from nearly 100 employees to under 20.

This year, the Democrats wouldn't pass stimulus out of the house because they couldn't get the huge riders for their pet special interests. I think some people might be confused about who the democrats are truly helping. While the rhino Republicans are notorious for helping the rich and ignoring the poor and middle class, Trump is not a rhino Republican.

Yes, Trump had the largest numbers for size of the economy, but the rate of growth wasn't there like it was during some other presidencies. I for one, went from a poverty level salary to upper middle class under Trump. I would have had a lot more trouble under other economies that were heavily regulated and taxed. I also watched the young carpenters that work for us buy houses, completely remodel them, buy new side by sides, etc. and still put a responsible amount of money away for retirement.

At their age, I was struggling to make ends meet doing the same job they are doing. The economy is definitely better for the working class under Trump.

I know I know, every generation has said this about the previous generations, and I am not unique, but that said, every newer generation as a whole has less and less understanding of the world, we just finally hit close to the bottom.

So true, 50 years ago some car manuals showed you how to adjust the valves. Today car manuals have to tell people not to drink the various fluids.

Does half the country truly want Socialism?

apparently a little more than half does...

actually it's probably just a quarter, with the other quarter just hating trump's tirades and twitter rants and "dis" of covid.

I can't wait to slap every Liberal who complains about the state of the union if Biden becomes president. It will happen and I'm trying to find a lead filled glove to use.

Oh they'll bitch and moan alright. They'll bring up "Moscow" Mitch and the Supreme Court Justices while they do it.
