does hornady use benchmark? i bought some hornady 55g vmax and pulled one to weigh the charge. the powder looks just like benchmark but cant be sure. ive loaded 10 at the same weight and will try them the next trip to the range. i checked my sierra book and for 55g bullets, benchmark isnt even listed

Benchmark is a Hogden line powder so you will have to go to Hogden data to get loads for Benchmark http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp
Not many companies tell you what powder they use in their commercial loaded rounds.

Their 308 match ammo uses (proprietary)Varget and (proprietary)WLR primers.

Benchmark is a fairly new powder Not really to most of us but not enough good load data out there for the GREAT GREAT GREAT powder

If you go to this site http://www.thalesgroup.com.au/handloaders-guide/equivalents.asp it is the manufacturer of Hogdens Benchmark powder and many others. Varget is another its ADI AR2208.
Check the powder eqivalents page . It shows Hogden Benckmark as the same as ADI Benchmark 2 ( abreviated as BM2 ) . They are the same powder from the same factory.
If you check out the loading guide on this site you can substitute the load data for Benchmark 2 from Australia for Hogdens Benchmark in the US .

tried the loaded up hornady copy load with benchmark, got a .187 ctc 3 shot group, which is better than the factory loads( best i got was .225 ctc 3 shot). i also measured the length of the factory powder and the sticks are the same length as my benchmark
