I have bought 2 barrels off SH and so far I'm 0/2. Both arrived with a end ripped off and with rash on them. Do people not know what duck tape is and that there's no such things as overkill?
The first one just damaged the thread protector. The next one the breech was the end that came out.

Just be glad you hadn't ordered any balsa wood lately. Last week I got a 4" square, 3ft long box of 1/16" square balsa strips that ended up getting bent like a recurve bow.

Fortunately, the strips were flexible enough that they didn't break; although they did take on a bend. I put them atop the mantle with some weights and they eventually straightened back out.

Anytime I order balsa wood, I end up cringing and worrying until it arrives. So far, my suppliers are about 50/50 with getting it right. Not cheap, now becoming nearly unobtanium; it's always a crapshoot getting in new supplies.

That is my single biggest pet peeve about ordering anything from a company or individual. 90% don’t know and/or don’t give a shit about proper packing. I’ve returned more items damaged due to improper/insufficient packing than I can remember. And I’ll continue to do so. I’m not paying the price for someone’s laziness and/or carelessness.

Whatever sympathy you might have deserved went down the drain when you showed your toes. Can't people put on shoes and socks to take a damned picture if they're not at the beach or in a temple?
I am at the no shoes temple. You can eat off those floors lol
And who looks past the massive dinged crown and looks for toes? I didn't even see that. Edit. Not dinged crown I meant thread protector. My snaggle toes aren't even in focus.

I shipped a barrel packed in a PVC pipe with one end cap glued on and the other one taped. One of the caps got broaken off in handling.Fortunatly the big wad of bubble wrap between barrel and cap protected the barrel.

I'm in the total opposite boat when I order something. It's usually packed way too well. Hell, I ordered a couple Micro SD cards for my drones and they arrived in a huge box with tons of bubble wrap. I would bet that 90% of the shipping cost was just from the box and bubble wrap alone!

That sucks and I have had things show that looked like the package in the Ace Ventura movie like someone had been playing soccer with it.
On a positive note the barrel I recently ordered from Bugholes showed up what I thought was very well packaged and undamaged, fast forward to a about a week ago when the same barrel was returned from Kelblys after machine and chambering.
They definitely believe in overkill and I'm glad for it.

I'm always amazed at work with how horribly people package expensive delicate electronic stuff & wonder why they are getting it back when it arrives damaged.. eBay sellers seem to not have a clue unless they are a business and even most of them have very little clue.

Ouch. I've seen that, even when they do a good job and had padding and wooden discs nailed into the ends of the carboard tube, the barrel STILL broke the wooden disc and tried to come out; luckily it couldn't make it all the way and was still covered in plastic.

Basically the barrel works like a slide hammer and if it's in a position where it can go back and forth like that for ten, fifteen house or whatever, it's gonna come through.

The only way to stop it is to stop the barrel from moving in that tube at all. So taped to the tube, packed in the tube tight (but mine was packed tight, it just packed it tighter till it gained momentum) whatever you can do to stop motion.
