Guy has a Vortex Viper PST for sale. Does the PST model have the letter PST anywhere on the scope or does it just say Viper? For the price he is asking, I just want to make sure it is the right scope.

I don't remember seeing any PST markings on mine, but the PST and the basic Viper have very distinct appearance differences. You can check them out on Vortexs website, or post the for sale ad here and we can give you some feedback on it.

It's a PST, the only Viper that looks close in that magnification is the new Viper HS with FFP, but it hasn't hit the market yet.

Does HS have the illumination controls? Looks like a 6-24 Viper PST to me. Looks like FFP based on not being able to see multiplier numbers on back small mag number blocks, but not sure pics are good enough to tell that for sure.

I have the 6-24 PST and it does not actually say "PST" anywhere on it. The objective bell has Vortex Viper 6-24x50 as does the turret. From the pics above it looks like what I have. The illumination and knobs are the same.

Ask him to send you a picture of the box it came in. I think the only way to verify if it is FFP or SFP is if you either look through it, or by the label on the box...

what size is it. the standard viper does not come in 4-16 or 6-24. the viper hs does come in 4-16 but not with a standard moa or miml reticle so you should be able to look threw it and identify it by the reticle.
if its ffp (crosshairs will get bigger and smaller as you change the zoom) it has to be the pst or razor. the ffp viper hs is not out yet
