80 yr. old man is attacked in his home when he encounters two burglars. After they saw his gun they fled. He shoots the slowest one in the back, a female.

Seen plenty of old timers using 22 mag (revolver). Yet to see any sentient being that would want to mess with said old-timer if they knew. If somebody had to go to 22 mag for self defense to maintain their accuracy and ability, one can guarantee that that person takes self defense seriously (aka, not going down without a fight).

Fuck that .22 business. Im 71 and can still wield a 1911 pretty damn well. If youre gonna shoot something put a big hole in it. Im looking at getting a S&W 329pd, a beautiful weapon that makes even bigger holes.

Is that a Smith & Alexander one piece mainspring housing/magwell, and STI trigger?

I bet you got a Cylinder & Slide Hammer/sear, don't ya?

Thats a Brown Magwell and Wilson hammer/sear. The thumb safety is a King, now discontinued, and the beavertail is a Brown that I welded up and cut back down to make it as small and hug the hammer as close as possible. You can see where I shaved it so high I went through the metal.

Virgil Tripp built the gun in the early 80's out of his garage/shop in N. Austin right before he and Sandy Strayhorn designed whats now the STI high cap. polymer frame.

how about this....

if you are pregnant, and care about your baby sooo much, dont run around breaking into homes and attacking people.

dont start fights you cant finish.....none of this, "oh i was running away, you cant shoot me"..,.fuck you whore.....this isnt a game of tag, there are no rules.....you initialized an attack, you dont get to choose when the encounter stops, your victim does.

also, i wish people would stop with the myth that if someone has their back to you they are not a threat......you can 100% justifiably shoot someone in the back.

protip: dont bring a baby to a gun fight

So the meth heads break into his house with the mother of one of them as the driver? EL o EL

Guy shoots the girl and then drags her dead ass in his garage to wait. I'm assuming he still has the gun at this point. How the fuck does meth head #2 manage to get the gun from a guy that obviously has no problem shooting you and is waiting in ambush? That part makes zero sense to me.

I also don't understand how people get a jump on someone and then that person 'wanders off and gets a gun'. Where the fuck did you think he was going? First rule is to secure and keep anyone loose secured. Again, totally confused.

It also said the guy was robbed twice before. How does that even happen? Was it the same meth heads?

Pregnant or not, that doesn't matter. When you go past the 'active self defense' point, in your mind, there needs to be a basic rule; No social aspects matter. Don't care if its a pregnant chick, an old guy, black, white, a one legged tranny, 12 year old kid, etc. You're getting rounds in the face. The only preference I'd give anyone is we always had a rule that whoever was standing around screaming shit like Oh my God Oh My God when something happened- they'd get shot first.

A lot. A person can be a POS thirf and yet really love freedom and can, in the right circumstances see the light. Commies on the other had just need to be 'eliminated'. On the third hand, these were more than simple thieves, these were home invaders. Stealing something off my lawn or out of my car, or forging a check, is one thing. I could understand a man stealing food for his family. Im not going to shoot somebody in the back while their running away over the cassette player from my car. Invading one's castle is a different level and needs met with a higher level of force.

KC Crawford, a great smith these days, makes a better than original King safety if you ever need that replaced. That is a lovely 1911.

Thank you sir. Caspian also made a King type safety but I never saw one in person.

King made some good stuff back in the day, including one of the best 1911 fixed rear sights.
