Dear Parents and Guardians,



We are all heartbroken by the tragedy of eleven lives taken at The Tree of Life Congregation, a Jewish synagogue, in Pittsburgh over the weekend, which was motivated by hate. These murders happened as we see increased hate expressed toward people of color, immigrants, and refugees.



The Arlington Public Schools remains committed to providing an environment where all students regardless of abilities, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or immigration status are respected and supported in being their best selves and contributing members of our community. Our vision for all students is that they are aware of the role bias and prejudice play in our society. A focus in our curriculum is supporting students so that they learn to be empathetic, responsible and active members of the community. Hate has no place in our schools or society.

She did similar during black lives matter, put out an invite to attend an event in the middle of the town.

I sent her a response stating how irresponsible it was for her to be doing it at that time as the case was under invest and it looked like Big mike was in the commission of a crime when he encountered the officer.

She sent something back to me about diversity.

Than the two cops were executed in NY City by a BLM activist and when I asked if she was going to send out an invite to memorialize them she went turtle.

I got one from my kid's district too. The indoctrination starts early, but my kid is already a flag waiving, MAGA, Republican. We were listening to the radio and the news gal said that Trump's America first agenda was receiving criticism. He asked, "Wait, aren't we all Americans? What American would criticize putting our own people first?". Exactly.

What we work on, and need to work on a lot more, is keeping our mouths shut. He talks way too much, and doesn't seem at all sheepish about bring up sensitive topics. I tell him that we don't talk politics around people who we don't already know their views. He doesn't get that. I hope it doesn't cause him any pain.
