Last month there was a phone message left for Rep. Gaetz (R) of CA where the man directly threatened to shoot him personally ("I can blow your head off from a mile away," etc) and repeated the threat multiple times during the call. It was played on Fox and was the most direct threat I've ever heard. It was turned it over to the FBI who investigated and actually found the man who did it. Then the head FBI agent in charge of that district told Gaetz that they were not going to arrest or prosecute him because he "wasn't a credible threat." I'm still dumbfounded by that one.

Correction: Gaetz is from FL. The threat apparently came from CA because it was the US Atty for the Northern district of CA who told Gaetz they weren't bringing charges.

Republican politicians need to dismiss the FBI and hire their own security/cybersecurity. When threats like that appear, the person making the threat needs to be visited by people paid to teach him a lesson on the spot.

This is not about the guys 1A or 2A rights. This is about not posting stupid shit on social media that can bite you on the ass, especially when the subject is a federal official. Some verbiage in the article was very misleading such as stock piling ammo. If seven rounds is a stockpile then we are in trouble.

This. Just like what has been going on in certain villages in Mexico recently. The government apparently won't take out the trash, so some folks decided "cool, ya'lls too pussy to do it, so we'll simply do it for you".

It would be a load of laughs when the next scumbag to threaten a conservative official gets a knock at his/her/it's door not from the police, but from a few hired "bounty hunters". And before they know it, they can't type anymore because their fingers are gone... Or their tongues, if they called the threat in.

There was a reason why the Sicilian Mafia of the 1950's were virtually untouchable in places like New York, Philly, and Chicago. These guys did not hesitate to get down and dirty when an irritation to their establishment appeared. The moment you hesitated or played fair, you lost...
