My father-in-law kept razzin' me about always shooting prone and claims that real men shoot off-hand so this was done solely to piss on his tree. There's no way I hit the 6" swinger at 800 but I may have tagged a whitetail or a Volkswagon the next county over

Your offhand form looks pretty good to me - you might be surprised with practice what you can hit a longer ranges. Usually if it's an old timer that's razzing you they would now say something like "you shoot like a girl" offhand because you prop you elbow on your body - heck real men don't use anything to support the rifle, they just muscle it. Great post - nice rifles too!

Worry not about the hip-slung, palm rest position.

Took a whitetail at about 350 yards that way once.

Only problem, Remington 7mm Rem. Mag, BDL.

Felt something warm and sticky trickling down into my eye after the shot. Still have the scar.

RCW3 is right, some practice and you'll be surprised what you can do. Just roll with the punch.

anyone can shoot a 338 offhand. real men shoot barret 50's off hand... and i don't mean that "lightweight" M107. real men shoot M82A1's offhand.

Actually the one good thing about my wife is that I can do stupid shit in front of her and she's too stupid to know what's going on LOL
